Meet Emesu Junior

Meet Emesu Junior 1

At Tennyson Road Primary School we sponsor a boy called Emesu Junior (Known as Junior) through a charity called 'Hands for Hope'.  Junior lives in Uganda in Africa.  Unable to attend school without financial support we pay an annual sponsorship fee so that Junior can attend school to learn.  Junior is now 9 years old and we have sponsored him since he was 4.  It has been fantastic to see his progress through his class reports.  We regularly have contact with the charity and they send us updates of how he is doing.  Children are fully aware of Junior and his story, we have a Junior display at both sites so that they are kept informed of his progress.  Classes at Tennyson Road Primary School also hold fundraising events to raise money for his sponsorship fees.  We also used the money raised during our 2016 Red Nose appeal to send directly to the charity.  We asked them to buy what the children needed-which was books and games.  It was fantastic to see the children with their new resources bought with our Red Nose day donations.
